What an inspiring day at the Sustainability & Innovation Showcase, hosted by the Port of London Authority onboard the Driftwoods as part of London International Shipping Week 2025!
The Thames Skills Academy was incredibly proud to showcase the vital role of apprenticeships in securing the future of our river. The exceptional apprentices of two of our member employers TfL (Woolwich Ferry) and Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, were fantastic ambassadors. They captivated attendees, including Lola Fadina, Director of Maritime, DfT, Minister, with activities highlighting innovation, sustainability and the rich history of the River Thames.
This event underscored the immense benefits for businesses engaging apprentices and the incredibly rewarding career pathways available on the Thames. We believe nurturing skilled talent is paramount for sustainable growth in the maritime sector.
We were also delighted to exhibit alongside esteemed organisations such as Kongsberg, Thames Marine Services, Crown Oil, Ports Skills and Safety, BMT, Pulsar, and the Port of London Authority, contributing to valuable discussions on the industry's future.
A special thanks to all delegates who joined us for the presentations, exhibitions, and the memorable river trip.
