Careers on the Thames announces 2027 date following the success of 2026

Published Date:

The Thames Skills Academy is delighted to confirm that Careers On The Thames, London's only floating careers fair, will return on Tuesday 27 April 2027, following its busiest and most successful event to date.

The 2026 edition drew its largest ever turnout of students, teachers, careers advisors and families. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many commending the chance to meet the organisations shaping the future of the Thames, including City Cruises, Cory, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, the Port of London Authority and Woods SilverFleet.

Apprenticeship experts from South Essex College and SeaRegs Training, who deliver the Boatmaster (Skipper) and Marine Engineering apprenticeships, were on-hand to talk through these key routes into careers on the Thames.  The overarching highlight for many was to hear directly from the river’s inspiring apprentices, both past and present.

Careers On The Thames continues to showcase the extraordinary breadth of apprenticeships and careers available along the 95‑mile stretch of the river.  Each year, guests step aboard a moored vessel, overlooking the iconic Tower of London bridge, to explore opportunities across engineering, operations, hospitality, marine services and more; meeting employers, training providers, skippers, deckhands, engineers, environmentalists, cabin crew and apprentices.

Careers On The Thames remains a free, open event designed to inspire the next generation of river professionals and highlight the vital role the Thames plays in London’s future.
