Webinar
The TSA is offering a free webinar on November the 17th at 2.30 PM available to everyone who is training or working on the Thames. It is being delivered by a leading mental health awareness organisation. Book your space here.
Mental Health Aware UK is the UK’s specialist mental health e-learning provider which offers courses, and qualifications regulated by Ofqual (Department of Education England).
The TSA recognises that with the increasing amounts of uncertainty in our lives, combined with new work routines and less human connection, there are real and present threats to the long term mental health of anybody not prepared to take proactive measures.
Jean Stevens-Duprez MBE from the Thames Skills Academy said: “One of the most vulnerable groups is apprentices, many of whom may have recently transitioned out of education and into the workplace.
“Even those further into an apprenticeship programme will be at higher risk, with potentially less contact time, supervision and support,” she added.
Andy Dean from Mental Health Aware UK explained: “Our courses help people make more of their lives through learning about and understanding mental health. Whatever the environment, whether it’s work, social or personal, raising awareness and creating a deeper understanding is the key to improving our mental and emotional wellbeing.”
Andy Dean is the founder of Mental Health Aware UK (MHA UK), who specialise in creating and developing innovative e learning training courses. He knows the construction industry well having built up his own successful renovation and refurbishment business before devoting all his time to MHA UK. Andy is a qualified Integrative Counsellor and has delivered Health Promotion programmes for the NHS, run courses in retreat centres, workshops and trainings on positive mental wellbeing and CPD mindfulness workshops for the CIOB. He’s continually developing innovative e learning courses on mental health & wellbeing making them more accessible and delivering take away tools to upskill and resource people in meeting life`s challenges.
The webinar will last for an hour and will focus on discussions around understanding what mental health means and how we can support ourselves around mental health issues.
At the end of the webinar the participants will be able to understand the difference between mental health and mental ill health and have some simple ways of helping themselves when they are facing challenging times.
